In the past week, in our Editorial section, the impact on Indian importers of the bruising US-China trade war was analysed and we argued that Indian exporters need to be shielded from it. The recent tie-up between the BJP and the AIADMK in Tamil Nadu was commented upon in the context of the Assembly elections due in mid-2026, why this tie-up is important to fill up the opposition vacuum in the State. The IMD’s monsoon forecast for the year was analysed and we argued that given the growing spatial variation in monsoon, accurate localised forecasts are needed.
