Air India has temporarily suspended flights to Nairobi and those to London from Amritsar and Goa as a part of its plan to stabilise operations post last week’s crash.

The flights which are operated by Boeing 787 aircraft will be suspended from June 21 to July 15.

On Wednesday Air India announced its plan to cut widebody international flights by 15 per cent till mid-July and this will see frequency reductions on all its routes to Australia, East Asia, Europe and the US.

“The reductions arise from the decision to voluntarily undertake enhanced pre-flight safety checks, as well as accommodate additional flight durations arising from airspace closures in the Middle East. The objective is to restore schedule stability and minimising last-minute inconvenience to passengers,” the airline said in a statement on Thursday.

“The revised schedule is being progressively made available on our website, airindia.com, mobile app and through our contact centre. We remain committed to restoring our full schedule as soon as practicable, while at all times prioritising the safety of our passengers, crew and aircraft,” it added.
